Best Professional SLR Digital Cameras

I have a Minolta Maxxum 7000 with two lenses: a 100-200mm AF lens and the 50 mm AF lens. Is it possible to buy a digital SLR body that I can use my film SLR lenses on? If so, do you know which digital SLRs would work?

I am planning to buy my first digital slr camera. In my small business I shoot approximately 60% id photos, 20% portraits and 20% other photos. Price is important but the quality of the camera comes first.

You can remote control big flash units like softboxes. Some SLR bodies have a wireless controller, and you can fire the softboxes remotely using the signal from your camera body. Does the D80 have such a thing?

Is it easy to use? Good zoom? Is their a zoom button or do you have to do it manually with the lens?
Is there a better camera for the same price range? I don’t want to spend a bundle, but I want a good camera.
I have a Sony H7 currently. Will the Nikon be easier for me to use? Better pictures?

Side note: I like to take closeups when I’m far away.

I have a Nikon D40, and i’ve been searching amazon for new lenses, i found a lot of good ones at a good price, but they aren’t Nikkor lenses.

Would they damage my camera?

I’m wondering what are the specific differences between the D50, 70, 80, and 100. Those are the ones in my possible price range. I’m an amateur photographer and this will be my first dSLR, although I am proficient at using my film SLR.
